Roy & Associates, PC is a local public accounting firm of four (4) Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) plus support staff, operating from one office located in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. Contact information for our staff can be found on the CONTACTS heading of this website and additional bio information on the CPAs of the staff is available on a CONTACTS sub-menu for each CPA.  Roy & Associates, PC was, until January 1, 2001, a part of Conti, Stewart, Roy and Associates, PC, a firm established in Greensburg in 1942.


The professional services of the Firm are administered by its Directors: Vance A. Roy, Steven L. Remaley, Cynthia R. Tatusko-Boniecki and Elizabeth D. Boyle. These Directors, all of whom are CPAs, plan and manage the execution of all audit, accounting, tax and consulting services provided by the Firm.  New client engagements are considered for acceptance by the collective determination of these Directors.  Engagement management responsibility within the Firm for each client engagement is assigned to one of these Directors and the responsibility for technical review and ultimate approval of each engagement is assigned among the other Directors.

Management of the technical and support functions of the Firm are coordinated by the Managing Director.  Steven Remaley succeeded Senior Director Vance Roy in this role of Managing Director effective mid-2013, assuming the duties of COO at that time, and effective in 2014 has assumed the role of President.  Vance Roy continues as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Firm and remains involved in firm management and of counsel regarding client services.  Financial and human resources management of the Firm will continue to be administered by Treasurer and  Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Elizabeth Boyle and Cynthia Tatusko-Boniecki continues as Vice President while also fulfilling the role of Chief Technical Officer (CTO) regarding accounting and auditing client services.


To enhance and maintain the quality of our work product, we participate in the AICPA Peer Review Program administered by the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA).  This is an independent review of our accounting and auditing work product conducted by external quality review managers under the guidance of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).  The most recent such Peer Review was conducted in June, 2011. The Peer Reviews of Roy & Associates, PC and its predecessor firm, Conti, Stewart, Roy and Associates, PC, have always resulted in unqualified opinions that our quality control policies and procedures meet the objectives and standards of the AICPA.


Our staff is well experienced regarding audit, accounting and tax reporting requirements for small business and nonprofit organizations. We maintain and improve our technical qualifications through frequent and ongoing continuing professional education.  All professional staff members regularly attend seminars, conferences and webinars throughout each year to enhance our expertise in accounting and tax compliance areas applicable to our clients needs.  This continuing professional education is scheduled to assure compliance with the education requirements of the AICPA, PICPA, and Pennsylvania State Licensing Board, as well as to satisfy the requirements for nonprofit and governmental auditing engagements conducted by the firm and estate planning credentials maintained by individual CPAs of the firm. All staff members are proficient with QuickBooks accounting software, including staff members that are Certified QuickBooks Pro Advisors.

Roy & Associates, PC carries professional liability insurance in an amount in excess of the amount of liability insurance required to be maintained by The CPA Law and the Pennsylvania State Board of Accountancy.   The Firm has personnel policies in place which apply recruiting, hiring, training, evaluation, promotion, compensation and professional development practices without regard to race, religion, color, national origin, gender, age, ancestry or political affiliation.

The Firm and all individual CPAs of the Firm are registered with the Pennsylvania State Licensing Board and are licensed to practice public accounting in Pennsylvania.  The Firm and all professional staff members comply with all reporting requirements established by the IRS.  Individual Directors from our staff have held local and state-wide positions of responsibility in the PICPA and served as adjunct professors at local colleges and universities.  In addition, members of our staff have also held accounting and management positions in industry.  Not only are we able to apply the knowledge gained from our public accounting experience to the needs of our clients, but this industry experience also helps us better understand and relate to the problems of our clients, and our teaching experience helps us to educate our clients and their accounting personnel with the accounting and tax knowledge they need.

There is no disciplinary action pending, nor has there been any disciplinary action taken against the Firm, its predecessor firm, or any of its officers, directors or staff at any time by any regulatory bodies or professional organizations, nor has the firm, its predecessor firm, or any related officers, directors or staff ever been under suspension or debarment by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania or any other state or the federal government.
